Has anyone else ever had this?

It's like someone is putting a hair on my skin and when i brush it off it's fine but then move somewhere else....so it's not really itchy scratchy if that makes sense!

I do have health anxiety and am waiting for the results of a mammogram so have now convinced myself that i have terminal cancer...also am moving house so stress levels through the roof!!! :(

Hi there

First thing I thought was have you stopped drinking suddenly as I know that can be a symptom.

I don't mean to play down your symptoms, but when we fixate on something it can make it worse.

Years ago I went to see a neurologist about a problem and he thought possibly I had MS. He rattled off a load of symptoms, one of which was tingling around the mouth. I kid you not, by the time I left his office, panicked, and got to the car, I noticed I had tingling around my mouth!

Suffice to say I did not have MS, thank God, but it showed me how the body can react.

If you suffer anxiety and are worried about test results, and possiby prone to hyperchondria (as I was at the time) then I wonder if that is what is happening here.

It got to the point with me that I could fixate on any part of my body and I would feel tingling.

Have you tried relaxing and not thinking about it? Does it get worse when you fixate on it? If so, I would bet that this is something that is happening for that reason.

I think you need to first try and relax and see if that has any bearing at all on your symptoms.

Take care xx

Hi Bluebelle - thanks for your reply!

You could well have a point about it being psychological...maybe even stress related...i think it definitely seems worse when i'm not busy...it's weird cos it doesn't seem to disturb me in the night or at least it hasn't as yet :/

Am trying to relax to see if that helps!

Hi there

I knew my symptoms were psychological because when I was busy I didn't notice the tingling and the moment I remembered it, it would start up. I knew then that it was something I did have control over.

From the sounds of it you have a lot of stuff going on and I know what it is like to be a worrier - I used to be a terrible one but thankfully am not anymore.

From what you have said, it does sound psychological. If it was something else, it wouldn't ease off when you stopped thinking about it, if you know what I mean. :)
