DS has got ridiculously dry skin. It's rough, dry and red. we took him to the nurse and she said 'toddlers skin is always like this, it'll pass' and gave us a prescription for oilatum.
The oilatum is good but it just doesn't seem to cut it.
He woke up all last night scratching his arms and legs and it was really bothering him.
Any chance this could be some sort of allergic reaction possibly?
We're currently:
- Bathing him with the Oilatum oil in the water.
- Washing him a very small amount of scentless emolient bath cream applied with a really fine baby sponge.
- Drying him off and applying the oilatum cream all over his body and face.
- DW is putting a bit of Kamalosin (sp?) on some really raw, rough patches on his cheeks and jaw (which seems to do the trick).
Kamolosin is great but it isn't really meant for full body coverage and is very very oily.
any recommendations above and beyond what we're already doing.
