Does anybody have Adenomyosis?

I have been given a dx for this and I am waiting for the results of an MRI to check for Endometriosis. I will be getting a hysterectomy (I'm 43).

I only started to suffer in November, I thought I had a prolapse, but I have been in pain pratically everyday since then. I had a womb eblation 3 years ago and I think this is the result of having that.

Anybody else in pain who has any coping ideas? I haven't been able to work since Nov. as my job involves a lot of lifting.

Hi I was diagnosed with adenomyosis when I was 18, am 24 now. Tbh it seemed as though there was little the doctors could/would do and I was more or less left to get on with it.
The only option I was given was to try the pill but it didn't make any difference to the pain, just transformed me into a maniac (well more than usual Grin )
I still suffer with the most agonising pain and have ended up in hosp on a morphine drip more than once. The only thing that eases it is a hot bath and anadin extra. I was prescribed codeine but that just made me sick, not easy when I'm a single mum to a lunatic toddler.

I least I've only got it now I'm older! Codeine gives me a migraine Hmm which doesn't help! Hopefully I'll hear soon and get my op. Imagine wishing for a hysterectomy.

Take care Smile

Oh I totally understand you looking forward to the op, I would too.
Has your gp prescribed you anything for the pain?

Kapake, I use it when the pain is too much, then take painkillers for my headache!

TENS machine and hot water bottles. I didn't know I'd got it until the histology of the hyst was reported. Also had/have endometriosis.
Very intense pain - amitryptiline in low doses can help but has side effects. Diclofenac is another one that might work. Your GP would need to prescribe them.
As you probably guess I worked my way through many options.
