Ah.....DD and I have had a lovely few days playing in the snow but now we are suffering!
What works? I've heard aqua-cool (aqueous cream and menthol) is good, but not tried it yet.
Any words of wisdom from fellow sufferers?
thanks

I'm a podiatrist, you can buy chilblain ointments as well as aqueous-menthol mainly to try and relieve the itching and burning pain.

They are caused when a cold extremity such as a hand or foot goes warm very quickly. The blood supply cant cope with such rapid change and small areas begin to be starved of nutrients and oxygen. This area begins to die off.

They are very common in people with bad circulation and used to be very common in children. Now we have central heating they are not so common, putting a foot near a fire or radiator is a way of getting them.

Next time put plenty of warm socks on and when you get back snuggle up under a fleece, dont put your feet in or near anything warm including hot water.

thanks fluffycloud.
I think all the women in my family are prone to them. I've just put up with them over they years, without realising there was anything to help!
I've got aqueous/menthol cream today and will have a go at DD's feet tomorrow!
