Amalgam dental fillings/depression

(I origionally posted about this but thought I'd make the title more specific.

I had a poster who said there was no evidence but this is because the government would not commission studies, due to the amount of claims and complaints.)

My husband has just made me aware of the dangers from poisons in mercury fillings.

If anyone's interested google amalgam fillings.

Apparently there are so many cases of people having their fillings out and their depression or illnesses disappear. The poison is activated when you eat, this has disturbed me, ewww.

This is really interesting!

Again you will find there is no factual, peer reviewed research that has any doubt about the safety of amalgam restorations. The government don't fund research.
I feel you may need to familiarise yourself with some basic scientific principles and facts about R&D before you try to scare everyone with this subject again.

It's not a question of trying to scare people on here about this subject, I've simply had the issue brought to my attention, found it an interesting proposition and I'm putting it out there for others to offer their thoughts and encourage discussion (this was a discussion board, the last time I checked).
It appears from your post Grumpystiltskin that if there's no peer viewed research and unless I'm a scientist that I can't even mention the subject.
Even if there's only anecdotal evidence, it doesn't mean that the matter can't be talked about in an open and civilised manner.
