How many days of the month do you take some kind of pain killer?

I think I feel pain most days, about half of the days in a month I take paracetamol and iburpofen.
Either head aches, sore back/neck type stuff.

Is this average?

I think I am in pain from part or another of my body most of the time (hips usually, gut most of the time as I often eat things that disagree). The only time I really take anything a painkiller though when I can't think straight any more- usually a tense kind headache. I then take 1 paracetamol and sleep like a baby really well feel a lot better. I would probably be taking something every single day if I started medicating all pain away.

Sorry, forgot to answer question- maybe once a month. 16 paracetamol lasts a long time in this house. I did once have an au pair who appeared addicted to ibuprofen. She was a very strange girl- a dancer with many stress injuries. Very impressed by the price of basic painkillers she was as well (much more expensive in Spain)

PRcetamol can actually cause headaches so you could be causing more headaches.

Check you are drinking enough.

As to the origional question - I have a complex medical history so I take several a day.

I drink lots of water, keep my blood sugar stable. Paracetamol on its own actually gives me a headache though!

None atm, but when I have periods I need to take them for 5 days of the month: if I don't start 3 days before it starts then I end up in bed and nothing can touch the pain. Pretty rare to take them for anything else though.

I take paracetomol once, maybe twice a year, if that, only if I have a very bad cold, the sort that gives you a sinus-headache.

I dislike taking any sort of medicine unless I absolutely have to.

This thread has answered something I've always pondered - I never realised that people took painkillers that regularly and always wondered why companies spent millions advertising them on TV. Now I know.
