Possible salivery gland stone, in pain :(

So a few weeks ago I had a pain under my cheek bone and it began to swell, the swelling was allround the front of my ear and under my jaw and very painful to eat. It went down after a few hours but then came back again. Saw my GP who said it was probably a salivery gland stone and to suck lots of sweets/drink citrus juice and it would probably come out itself. After a few days all the soreness/swelling was gone.
I have been in remission from thyroid cancer since August last year so spoke to my consultant who told me if it happens again I was to tell my GP to send me for a facial ultrasound.

Well on Tuesday it happened again only much worse, i could feel it filling up and swelling. It was huge and quite scarey. Again it went down and my GP is referring me for the ultrasound which might take a few weeks. But my face keeps swelling a bit every time I eat and inbetween there is a solid swelling just under my ear at the jaw which is painful and feels heavy. I also found a small hard lump at the base of one of my front teeth, just behind it. I think it's been there a few months but not sure, could this be the actual stone ?

Anyone had this ?

Hi

I had this last year. Whilst I started eating I could see and feel the right side of my face swell. I went straight to a&e thinking it may be an allergic reaction, but was told it was most likely a salivary stone. It subsided after a few hours but would swell again when eating.

I went to my dentist as well thinking it would be visible on an X-ray but was told they do not show up. I was referred to my local dental hospital to see a specialist and was told in the meantime to have spoonfuls of lemon juice to stimulate saliva flow and to massage from ear along top of jaw to encourage any stones to pass.

I had a dye injected into the saliva gland opening which is inside the top of your cheek and X-rays taken. It showed a "stricture" which is a narrowing of the salivary gland and was told it could be widened if the symptoms became a nuisance, and it was nothing to be concerned about.
