can i pop this lump on my gum?

hi i have the most awful toothache i would rather give birth than put up with this pain. i think i have got an abscess as there is a big lump next to the tooth that hurts can i get a needle and just pop it?

I’ve been told I’ve got an infection in my gum on a tooth and need a root canal. The spot of white on my gum where it is has just burst when I’ve brushed my teeth!! I’m worried now, didn’t mean for it to burst the pimple looking spot on the infected tooth. I don’t need to get urgent antibiotics do I? I have dentist Monday morning.
