16 month old ds has been throwing up nightly and has horrible ruuny poo for over a week now, he is drinking and eating a bit, and every time he seems to get over it he gets another explosion of poo. i don't see a point in going to the doc, as its definitely a virus, i've had it too, and can't quite get rid of it. he's quite upset today tho no temp. anyone else going thru this? Any tips on what to do? As he is drinking doc said not to worry with diorlite [sp] but i'm a bit worried about the way this is dragging on.

We just had a similar situation. Temporarily stopping dairy products seems to have cleared ds2 up (touch wood). Diet of diluted apple juice, bananas and toast (without butter). Can also use juice to mix with bland cereal like cornflakes

we're on a dairy free diet anyway, he had some rice cereal with rice milk this morning. but can't bear to be picked up today - highly unusual.

A week, which we all thought was plenty. He has eczema, so a sick bug is a good reminder to give all the bedding a good wash But we were worried cos the rest of the family shook it off in 24 hours.

yes that's what worries me. tho i thought i'd got rid of it and its still hanging around...

no one else had it then?

Not as badly, but I had a nausea/diarrhoea bug that lasted about a week. DD threw up once, then was off her food for about four days, and DH only had it for one day
Its probably about to get better (IME, by the time I'm worrying they're about to change!) but if it doesn't, I'd go and see the GP anyway - is there any chance the both of you could have a touch of food poisoning?? Only ask 'cos DH had some from undercooked chicken once, and it hung around for ages - needed antibiotics in the end.

don't think so, but we sent a stool culture off today just in case. DH starting to get it now, so that would also suggest a bug...
