Any dentists in tonight whose brains I can pick?

One of my front teeth was broken years and years ago, and I have a sort of bonded filling on it. This falls off pretty regularly and it's on it's way out again now.

I shall try and get in to the dentist to get it done again tomorrow, but I was wondering whether it would it be better if I asked to have it crowned. Sometimes I've had to go back to the dentists three times in as many days to have it refilled, although this last one has lasted for about 5 years. I'd really prefer something that didn't fall out and leave me looking like the bride of Dracula every now and again!

lol chicagomum re opening things with my teeth - tbh, I hardly do anymore due to my shiny new(ish) veneers.

sorry for thread hijack ....but chicagomum, can I ask you, I have awful teeth, full of fillings and crowns and bridges - really upsets me sometimes as I fear I will be a toothless old lady. I am absolutely terrified that ds will have inherited my rubbish teeth. I have very deep fissures apparently, that are more prone to decay. Is there anything I can do to stop him going through what I have endured. I have bought him an electric toothbrush and he adores brushing his teeth, but I always brushed mine, to no avail.

WWB, the two teeth immediately next to my two middle teeth grew pointed when they broke through.

I had them veneered just prior to my teens (NHS) and they've never needed any replacement, etc. I've had them for about 14 years and I think they could do with replacing now, purely for cosmetic reasons rather than any movement (minor damage, which only I notice!).

Thanks all, especially chicagomum for the free consultation

The filling is definitely loose - usually it just falls straight out but this time it's been wobbling and shifting about since Friday so I shall give the dentist a call this morning and beg for an appointment this week.
