dd has been out of sorts for the past 3 days, complaining of tummy ache and a sore throat. Her throat looks fine and she has been emptying her bowels ok until tonight when she strained for about 20minutes. Her temparature was 38.5 last night and is 38.9 now (but she has been under her duvet for 2 hours).

I'm half inclined to think she is just worn out having started a new nursery for longer hours this week but became a little more worried when she started to flinch every time I touched her skin, even lightly.

She's now sobbing in bed again and saying she feels funny.

Should I be worried or wait until the morning to see how she is?

Yes I agree - why the bloody hell can't the doc come out and see her. Dh has just reminded me that the minor rigors she had earlier were a less severe sort of rigors that she had when she had her last UTI and we rushed her to A + E. We were in the hospital for 3 hours and they then didn't have the anti-biotics they prescribed so we couldn't get them till the next day anyway.

dh is going to take her temperature in an hour again. She's crashed out to sleep now and is sucking her thums with a contented look on her face.

bless her wee cotton socks...
They are so funny when thier poorly. If you do suspect a uti, cranberry juice help to neutralise the ph of the urine and stops bacteria sticking to the wall of the urethra eww, tmi!!!
brufen is good to if she can take it
Have along history of UTI's and kidney infections,
HTH

Thanks for your replies and advice. Going to come off line now and go and sit in dd's room to make sure she's ok. She seems much better now her temperature has reduced

How is she today galaxy??

dd's was much better today. She was still runnning a temperature this morning although not as high. She didn't wake up till 10 am then fell asleep again for 45 minutes at 11:30 which was most unusual.

She's been lethargic and asked to go to bed about 6:30 but temperature was back down to 37 when she went to bed.

She said she feels well.

Thanks for your advice and thoughts
