I have sever PMS imo and have finally got the courage to go to the GP. Has anyone any experiences of the GP and PMS they feel they can share.

That should have said severe, thats the PMS clumsiness kicking in!

How about total incomprehension and an utter lack of awareness about what PMT even is?

Sorry, that's just based on my experiences (bitter) - you might be luckier with your GP.

Thats why I haven't been in all these years. Its got out of control though now. I am hoping against hope for someone who understands. Have you just had to carry on as before?

mine didn't believe me, didn't believe in PMsyndrome and wanted to put me on antidepressants or the BCP.
I'd think about changing your diet/nutrition/supplements if yours is as unhelpful.

You could try vit B6, evening primrose oil & magnesium. You can get a combined multi vitamin usually for women that had everything in to help with PMS. Most chemists would do one.

Keeping your carbohydrate levels constant is supposed to help. There is a PMS website of you google that gives advice.

Thanks for the messages. Have tried the diet, exercise, vitamins to no avail. See what GP has to say. Unfortunately when I go I will be in the 'normal' phase, so my tendency would be to play it down so I have written down exactly what happens and when and hope the GP is clued up.
