Would you wake a vomiting, sleeping toddler?

DD started vomiting around 4.30 for no reason .. it was like a scene from the exorcist .. she seemed fine before, she seemed fine after

Around 5 she ate dinner, then bath, then played then put into bed around 6.30 .. totally fine .. she's just puked again (chunks this time) .. so picked her up still sleeping and changed sheets

my question is do I keep checking on her .. and do I worry she didn't wake up when we picked her up? (she is quite a heavy sleeper normally)

I would keep checking, but wouldn't wake her. I'ld only worry about her not waking if the vomiting was following a blow to the head. Sounds like she's got the tummy bug that seems to be going round the UK!

there's a bug? is it symtomless apart from the vomiting?

saw a friend today whose 12 month old has this too - this morning she found him fast asleep, with himself, the cot, all the toys, all the bedding etc. covered in vomit (which had all gone a bit hard, lovely). no other symptoms that she can see. So maybe it is the same tummy bug I keep hearing about. And I wouldn't bother waking her - just check her

my ds did just this one night - I thought he was coughing and when I went in there was loads of chocolate coloured puke all over his head and pillow - he just slept through it which I found quite worrying.

Im afraid I took the cowards way out and slept on his floor for hte night just in case

Mine had this and after the initial day time vomiting would only vomit a night. They also had aching legs and sometimes a temperature. It went on for 10 days!

my ds had this bug,lol at the exorcist!!

No symptoms,just puke....lovely!

cranberryjampots, why the ? Sounds perfectly sensible to me (except the floor bit, I'm too old for that! I have to have a mattress )

we've just got over this [hopefully] 16 month old ds puked copiously in the evenings over two nights and had a temperature. Then i got it - o lordie it was horribe - vomited for England, but over in one night. Now he's just pale and off his food - so am I.

mummytosteven · 18/01/2006 20:03

DS did the same a few weeks ago - had virtually no symptoms, found he'ld puked over his cot one morning, then no other symptoms apart from slightly less appetite than normal.

JoolsToo · 18/01/2006 20:05

well I certainly wouldn't leave her lying in a pool of vomit so in all probability she'd be woken when clearing up.

now, now Jools .. read the thread deary .. is your myopia getting to you? ... snurk
