Always ill - am I worrying too much?

Hi

I am starting to get concerned about my DH. I know it's "that time of year" when there are bugs and things about but he just seems to catch everything going.

He always seems to have a cold, often has bad headaches and also seems to catch every tummy bug that does the rounds. He had his eyes tested for the headaches and they are fine.

I am really worried and can't shake off the nagging feeling that there is something wrong. I have asked him to go to the doctor but he just thinks he is rundown and I feel like I am turning into a nag.

This evening he is poorly again with a bad headache so has gone to bed early. I'm not a hypochondriac normally and don't tend to be over anxious so just wanted to gage opinion really. Should I be worried or I am just over thinking it?

My dh used to be like this. He was suffering from stress.

Thanks Hiddenhome - I have thought about stress and depression but he shrugs off both. I'm not convinced but I just don't know what to do for the best. I don't want to be a nag and I know if he thinks he's fine then the doctor will probably pick up that "vibe" and will also think he's ok.

On the otherhand if I let it go, where does that leave us? It i starting to impact on family life and also his life and what he does. I am really worried about him :-(

What does he say when you explain this to him? Does he get enough rest periods during the week? Does he drink/smoke? What's his diet and general lifestyle like? Sometimes vitamins, supplements and an improvement in diet can help, but if it's stress, he needs to re-evaluate his lifestyle. My dh could afford to go part time and it certainly helped him, but I know that not everybody can do that.

It might be wise for him to see your Dr just to get some blood tests done. They will probably check his iron levels & thyroid as well as a full blood picture. TakIng a multi vitamin would help as well as an extra zinc & 1000mg vit c would boost the immune system. I know men just don't like bothering the Dr but he should really get checked out.

Thanks I have spoken to him againand he is going to go and get checked out. I don't thin he realised just how worried I was. Appreciate the advice :-)
