MMR - When to Have Jab?

Hi, my dd is 1 (she was one on Saturday!) and I have had an NHS letter suggesting that I make an appt for her to have her MMR jab next week. She is due to start nursery at the beginning of March. I had been thinking of delaing the MMR until dd was a wee bit older - but do you think I ought to be organising for sooner, rather than later? After all, I don't want her to catch any of the horrid things it prevents against! I'd be very interested to know your thoughts on this topic.

I waited until dd was about 16 months. I don't really know why but I spent ages weighing up the options and wanted to wait until she was a bit older and kept putting it off. She was at nursery the whole time and didn't catch anything (other than every cold and virus going). If you go out and about a bit to toddler groups etc I shouldn't think she'll be exposed to many more bugs at nursery. Go with your instinct

12 moths is the absolute ealiest she can have it because before that the measels component is not as effective. I'd stall a bit personally. Actually, I'd go single jabe and tell the surgery to kiss my you know what.... but then that's a different topic.

But, if I was going to get the MMr for my kids, I'd few a bit longer.

Do what YOU feel is right. Not what the NHS tells you to do.
