Repeated bloods, spine x-ray, why am I still in pain?

I am at a loss as to what's going on! This has been going on for 7 months. Mainly pain in my spine and tail bone and numbness of hands.

All bloods ok and x-ray just shows widening of discs, which doc put down to normal aging. I suspect a trapped nerve which he says is unlikely. My spine is sore to touch, which he felt and said 'ah L5' meaning the disc.

I get a very sharp pain in the tailbone when I walk.

He said it was unlikely to be neurological but he's put me back on Naproxen for two weeks and if the numbness and tingliness comes back in hands then he'll refer me to a neurologist.

I really want to forget all about this and move on but this pain is not letting me. & months is a long time to suffer. I struggle to bath the kids as I get a general achy pain when bending over.

Can anyone offer any similar experiences? Thanks in advance. I've had enough now!

And it's not fibro as I don't have the tender points and I was put on anti-depressants a month ago which is supposed to get rid of fibro pain.

Greensmurf, you have two probably separate issues.
In terms of your lower back pain, you really need an MRI to look for soft tissue problems nerve root entrapment or slipped disk (this would not necessarily show up on plain films)
As for the numbness in your hands, is this constant? Intermittent? What precipitates it?
Could be something as simple as a b12 deficiency.
It is unlikely that the pain in ur lower back is linked to your numbness.
Do you have any problems with balance, vision etc??

Thanks McQuesy.

The doc said it was just disc size not slipped disc and said it would've shown on x-ray if slipped.

The numbness is in the night and first thing in morning (and stiffness).

I'm having lots of involuntary movements in my hands, I'm noticing it when I'm still.

What foods contain b12? I have a good balanced diet!

I have found myself off balance on quite a few occasions, where I've thought 'how did that happen?' and have had blurred vision.

McQuesy-I have problems in my neck and back of head, maybe this is causing the hand problems?
