dd was 2 last week and is 22 ish pounds - can't say I've ever had her weighed but dd2 was doing a project. I don't know how that works out on the centile chart. She's obviously healthy - maybe I'm less worried because she's number 4.

She's very healthy, eats loads and is very active btw. Was 8lb10oz at birth but didn't look it so much that midwife came back the next day to re-weigh her - couldn't believe such a petite baby was so heavy. Just wish I was petite!

hi i think people will always make comments about babies whether they're big or small and it is annoying (3catstoo)i agree with you,my mil also says as long as she's healthy i shouldn't worry.i seen a great pair of little cat type boots im wanting to buy dd but she's not walking unaided does anyone have any suggestions on whether i should wait to buy them?

Hi again,

I would resist the temptation. My dd2 (child no 3) didn't walk until she was 18 months and had physio from 8 months. Nothing wrong with her, just an over anxious HV (again). The physio was very good and advised me to not put her in anything other than leather booties ( daisy roots type of thing) to keep her warm. You can do more harm than good with footware early on. Plus they grow so quickly.
My dd2 has only just got her first pair of shoes at 20 months. She takes them off herself as soon as we get inside.
Hope that helps.

hi again 3catstoo,i think i'll just try to get her something softer as you suggested, how old are your babies by the way? i think with my dd i worry all the time because she was in hospital last may and diagnosed with milk allergy(sorry to ramble on to you by the way)any little spot or sniffle and i seem to panic and ive 2 other dd's so you'd think i should know..

Hi,

My ds is 6, dd1 is 4.5 and dd2 is 20 months.
I don't think it matters how many children you have, we still worry. There's always some new issue to think about.

About the soft shoes, I can recommend Robeez. They are online and offer a fantastic range of soft shoes. I found it hard to choose. They did do some really cute soft leather boots too, not sure if they will still do them as Spring is approaching.

Anyway have a great weekend.

My dts (2.1 years) are around 22lb

NannyL · 20/01/2006 20:21

My little charge is 3 1/2 and NO MORE THAN 13 kg (probably nearer 12 kg to be honest!

her trousers are 18 - 24 months, and loads of her skirts (aged 2) literally fall down while she is standing there

her feet are size 6 1/2

and she eats at least as much as I do!

i think shes about the 6th percentile

We are not worried at all as she eats so much and is very bright etc.... my only worry is that she will still be in a stage 1 car seat starting school in september, cause until shes 15kg, there is no way im moving her across to a one for bigger children!

Me again.

I just realised how big the gap is between your dd2 and dd3. You are allowed to worry over things if it's been a while. I was bad enough with a 3 year gap. It's amazing what you forget.
I had dd2 weighed this morning. At 20 months she is 21 lbs 5 ozs. It's funny though because yesterday 3 people told me that she looked BIG for her age. Bizarre! She was last weighed 10 weeks ago and was 20 lbs 3. So she has gained a pound. Yet to most of my friends she has 'really grown'.
You are right, people do just like to say something, even if it's nonsense.

Hey ho, part of being a Mummy.
Love
3catstoo
