What's it like to have a corn removed?

does it hurt? I watched a video on YouTube and it looked pretty violent! Does the hole keep filling up? What with? Skin/crap?

Tell me what it's like as I have one and it's hurting!

Easy, and not painful at all. I didn't notice the hole filling up or annoying me in any way. In fact I just felt immediate relief from the pain of the corn. Mine was quite a bad one, so I wouldn't think you would have a problem.

If done properly it shouldnt hurt at all if its a normal corn. Its just dead skin.
It usually does return though but can take 6 months to get painful again. Whoever removes it should give you plenty of good advice on how to stop it returning so quickly.
Good luck

I've had mine removed by a chiropodist - it wasnt at all painful - but i do find it reappears after a while. So I do it myself now - just dig it out with my nail or with some scissors! Blush

Well said Canella! Give it a good soak and get in there!

Works for me.

It's joyful. Doesn't hurt to have it taken off by a chiropodist and then afterwards you are no longer crippled. I love it. I love my chiropodist Grin

How do you do it yourself? Do you dig it out with nail scissors? Is there a little wick in the middle?

I just dig at it with my finger nail and if it doesnt shift then i scrape at it with some sharp nail scissors. Mine look like a cone shape - so it must be the pointy bit that causes the pain.
I get it in the same place every time - must be how I walk. Have contemplated going to a podiatrist to see if they could alter it but still never been.
