Odd rash, any ideas?

I have what I thought was a patch of excema on my middle finger (odd place) it's itchy and looks like it's made up of tiny blisters which are fluid filled if I stab them Blush

Madly itchy and not responding to normal creams or anti histamines, in fact nothing seems to make any difference.

It seems such an odd place to have it just on one finger, I'm not using any new hand washes or creams. I've had it since before Christmas.

Anyone got any ideas what this might be? I will pop in and see the pharmacist but just thought I'd ask here first ( I meant to do it today in Boots but got distracted by the 3 for 2 offer on make up Blush Grin)

Impetigo?

rufusnine · 06/01/2012 17:06

My sister had a similar thing and was diagnosed with something called granuloma annulare - worth a google!

CMOTDibbler · 06/01/2012 17:08

Are they really teeny tiny blisters ? I had those with dermatitis herpetiformis - really, amazingly, itchy

valiumredhead · 06/01/2012 17:10

YY very tiny blisters!

Not impetigo, I know what that looks like and I think it would be much worse by now if it was. . . . .eek!

Off to google granuloma!

Pompholyx eczema?

valiumredhead · 06/01/2012 17:18

A link just led me to CONTACT dermatitis - hmmmmm looks more like it but HOW ? Confused it's literally just off centre from the pad of my finger - what on earth is irritating it? I'll pop into Boots tomorrow, thanks for the suggestions :)

hell That's IT!!!!! Thank you! Just googled, and fits the description and photo. Will be interesting to see if there is any creams that will help.

Got it myself and mine's just flared up again, it usually needs a bit of steroid cream to knock it on the head but once I get it under control it stays that way for a good while.

Right that means a trip to see the nurse then. Thanks hell. Bloody itches doesn't it? I could quite happily chop my finger off!!!

Drives me to absolute distraction, it still amazes me just how much it can itch. I usually use a bit of canesten cream on mine though that might not be best practise.

valiumredhead · 08/01/2012 15:59

Interestingly enough I have used lavender oil on it and the itching has stopped completely!! I was going bonkers with it and wasn't quite sure how i was going to wait until next week for a nurse's appt. No more new blisters, in fact they are disappearing fast, still a bit 'scaly' but normal moisturiser is helping with that. Worth a go hell?

Yes, thank you it is. I have lavender oil in the cupboard and an extremely itchy band of blisters on my finger.

valiumredhead · 09/01/2012 11:47

I am still itch free although my finger is really scaly still, but no burning itchy hell. Hooray!
