How do you decide if it's too trivial for a doc appointment?

Not talking about children's health but for yourself - I have just made an appointment because I have had a kind of spot on my hand for months which has lately become very itchy at times. I'm really not a hypochondriac and I'm 99% sure it will be nothing at all, but all the advice says to get things like this checked. WWYD?

Get it checked. You'll mither. But book a "book ahead appointment, and don't moan/worry if that is a few weeks away or with the doctor that you don't prefer. Just don't forget to go though because you booked it a while ago IYSWIM!

My grandad recently had a small spot on his arm which he noticed was a little darker. He pointed it out to the GP (under pressure from my grandma lol) who took a biopsy. Turned out it was a melanoma in the early stages.

That said we do live in Australia so skin cancer is more common then UK(I presume?) Anyway it can't hurt to get it checked out!
