The usual diseases associated with drinking. For the past few weeks I have been almost consuming one glass on a daily basis and apart from relaxing me I am also finding my as (ankylosing spondylitis) is being given some relief too. Meanwhile, I am wondering what the latest advice from scientists is in regards to drinking the red stuff?

I think the last bit of "evidence" I saw was that a little is actually better than none at all Smile

if u check the advice it is all conflicting...i would say so long as u are within the recommended weekly allowance and u are relaxing and have less pain, go for it. alocholol on a regular basis is bette for you than having your weekly allowance in one go....just stick to the guidelines....enjoy Wine

Er, bit embarrassed to ask but what is the weekly allowance with regards to smallish wine glasses.

125ml glass red wine (13% ABV, eg Campo Viejo Rioja) = 1.63 units apparently

weekly recommended amount for women is 14 units, so 9-10 glasses a week at that strength

a lot of red wine is 14% or worse though so you need to read the labels

If you can stick to just one small glass a night you should be fine Smile

(I drink small glasses too but considerably more than one as a rule Blush)
