Starting tomorrow.
Cutting down on sugar and fat.
Increasing water, fruit and veg.
A little bit of exercise each day - even a walk round the block!
No coffee or alcohol!
Anyone in?

I'm on day 3 of fruit/vegetable juicing.

No booze or caffeine since monday.

I feel cold and tired though Sad

Waiting to emerge from this tired, bloated bod like a phoenix from the ashes Wink

Can I join in? I gave up booze on Monday and caffeine yesterday. Ended up with the WORST headache I have ever had in my life last night and all day today. Was supposed to be studying but have not been able to do anything (took time off work to study so very annoyed). Still have the headache despite taking painkillers. I am guessing its the caffeine withdrawal.

Have put on about a stone since beginning of December so need to cut out all the crapola. Fresh fruit, porridge, veggies and a little meat/fish. Hoping to start a bit of running too.

Anyone else got the headache from hell?

Raven yep I had headache from hell on Sunday due to no caffine - even though I had the best intentions I haven't cut down coffee too much - about 3 cups of filter coffee a day.... will drop it to 2 soon...

Have done nothing else - working my way through the christmas chocolate, once its gone it won't tempt me any more, its binge chocolate eating Smile

I did a 4 mile run tonight tho Grin

RavenVonChaos · 05/01/2012 22:33

verybusyspider well done for the run. Headache has finally gone thank god!

A1980 · 05/01/2012 23:58

What you're referring to is healthier eating. Detox is bullshit.

All of us humans have a liver and two kidneys which constantly remove toxins from the body, if they didn't remove them, we would die Grin

RavenVonChaos · 06/01/2012 09:23

I think we all know what we mean by detox. You sound like my pedantic mother Wink.

My headache has moved down to my legs now so think I have a virus - as opposed to severe caffeine withdrawal!

Trills · 06/01/2012 09:31

You may all know what you mean but that's not to say that everyone reading does.

It can be dangerous to use a word and assume that everyone knows that you mean sensible healthy eating and not grapefruit-and-maple-syrup-for-7-days-straight-or-until-you-pass-out-whichever-comes-first.

verybusyspider · 06/01/2012 14:40

I would speculate the vast majority (if not all) of people reading this would understand the context the word detox has been used in, which I agree isn't the dictionary definition - a quick read of the thread would confirm that - not sure you can change a thread title after its started can you?
