gp notes say i have cervical spondylitis, and today my hands and feet are achey. i have pains in my ribs and neck as well. i hate days like this. peters on at me to claim DLA, but i refuse. admitingly i have made changes in my life for days like this (different tes caddys as i cant get the lids off the old ones when my hands play up), things which are easy to open are great, and i will use the small car on says like today as the steering is lighter.

i dont think i need advice just a general moan.

Sympathies

I agree with Peter, you should claim DLA

misdee · 12/01/2006 11:28

nope, not doing it. nope nope

[burys head in sand]

i havent taken any painkillers (except paracentamol) and anti inflamortires for ages due to breastfeeding, so sont even know if my current gp is aware of it IYSWIM.

i should really get off here and move about as staying still and sitting downdoesnt help, moving about is good.

I have it too and I sympathise - I also have RSI, so on some days the pain starts in my neck and goes down, and on others it starts in my hands and goes up. And quite often it does both at the same time.

I find sometimes one of those wheat filled bags that you can warm up in the microwave can help with the pain, just for a little while. I think you should probably see the GP and ask if there are any anti-inflammatories that you can take while you are breast-feeding. My dad suffers with it too and swears by magnets - he has a magnetic bracelet that he wears and while it doesn't completely take the pain away it makes it a lot more bearable.

thank WWB, i have some heat heart things, think i'll just reset them, (the kids like them) and place one on my neck. my neck went into spasm again the other night which probably set this lot off again. its not constant which i find really hard, one day i can be fine and doing everything, the next i can be aching head to toe.

feeling a bit better today, still feel shattered tho. is that usual for this thing? after a bad flare up (i dont even know if thats the correct way of putting it) i feel drained for about a week or so.
