Is it true that ibuprofen can reduce AF blood loss by 30%+?
I have dysfunctional uterine bleeding & although I am taking Agnus Cactus...the flow is still very very heavy.
Does anyone know if that's right or has any tips? Thank you

Have you seen your GP- this is something that works

www.patient.co.uk/medicine/Tranexamic-acid.htm

wifey6 · 23/12/2011 15:41

ameliagrey.....I have had that before...didn't always work. But I could try again.

have you seen a gynae? if you don't want any more kids they might offer an ablation.

wifey6 · 23/12/2011 15:52

Yes I have...they offered that procedure but I would love more children. A lot of synthetic hormones don't work so I was looking for alternatives.

I'm not sure about that. It's a muscle relaxant so my, non-scientific, logic would say that the flow of blood is easier?

I read it on a few websites when I looked up 'how to handle heavy periods'. Just not sure what to do. Sad

I was given Menfenamic acid for heavy and painful periods which is a NSAID as is ibroprufen. It reduces swelling so that may have something to do with it. They work by reducing the production of prostaglandin.

bruffin....is it good to take then?

It is a recommended treatment on the NHS website so I don't see why it should be a problem as you are only taking it a few days a month.

Thank you...I will get hubby to get some later. Much appreciated. Smile
