Thrush

Does anyone know how long you can leave thrush untreated for?
I think I have Thrush, but haven't been to the GP yet. Could it get worse, or could it just go by itself. It's not really that bad, just really itchy.

you can buy thrush treatments over the counter so no need to go to the gp

IME it won't disappear by itself. Internal itching and discharge? Try fluconazole from one of the online pharmacies - much cheaper than over the counter in the chemists.

As Seona says, you can buy treatment over the counter if you're sure it's thrush.
I'd advise cutting your yeast/sugar intake to speed up the process too.

Thanks for the posts, marriednotdead- that's going to be a hard one, to cut out on sugars. I'll try the online treatment, sounds good. My symptoms seem to suggest it is Thrush, how can I be sure?

you can't be sure without a swab.
if it is thrush then the treatmenets will clear it- try the oral tablet- Diflucan- or a pessary and cream.

If you suspect a STD go and get checked- and thrush can be transmitted to partners who can carry it without symptoms. so if you have had sex your partner should be treated with the cream/tablet as well.

where can you get fluconazole online? It is £5 from our Tesco pharmacy - the cheapest I have found it!
