Did anyone take multiple medications when they were pregnant?
I was taking 12 different medications buy managed to reduce to 9 different meds when I was pregnant.
It included , morphine, fentanyl, lanszoperzole, domperidon, cylazine, ondanszotron, salbutamol and symbicort, movicle.
My baby boy came out fine apart from a few mild withdrawal effects from my pain killers.
He is now 7 months old.

Have you noticed if your meds may have had some effect on your baby/child?

I know he is just a baby and only 7 months, but he is extremely hyper, and goes from that to crying and tantrums all over a sudden, when everything has been done (nappy, food, drink, sleep etc)

I'm worried about the long term effects my medication may have had on him when is was in my womb.

You need to see your GP about your concerns.

I talked to the consultant when I was pregnant and they said they don't know, they can't give a definate answer.
I just generally asking if any others have had any problems with being on meds when pregnant.

During first 5 months of PG I had severe hyperemesis, and lost 2 stone of weight. I took Domperidone, metoclopramide, cyclizine, and relatively huge doses of prochlorperazine, and could not keep down my folic acid. I spent the pregnancy worrying about effects but can happily say that touchwood my 5 year old has shown no obvious ill effects at all and I give the issue no further thought at all. My sister has a beautiful 2 year old (also fine) she was treated for hyperemesis with prednisolone and cyclizine. she had also taken methotrexate (much more risky) a few months before conceiving for another medical problem. If you're really worried - then yes, it may be worth talking it through with a GP. Whilst he or she wont be able to be definite around drugs and their effect - because often there are no definite answers, just probabilities, they will be able to address any concerns you have with your little lad's development, or more likely, reassure you and tell you he's absolutely normal - tantrums randomly appearing sounds normal to me!

Hiya I had hyperemesis too during my whole pregnancy. Vomiting is awful anyway but when have a baby inside you and the extra pressure and weight it's bloody terrible!!!
They were fine with all the extra anti sickness meds they were giving me. They weren't concerned about them. Was just the other stuff especially the opoid painkillers.

hyperemesis: grim and has forever put me off being pregnant :-(

The main problem the medical profession have is that they cannot give pg women drugs to see how the baby turns out.

So all they have is people like op who had to do it, and animal testing, which makes me Angry

lansoprazole, heparin, prednisolone, ovex, paracetamol, codeine (first one only), and piriton (second one only) Smile

With both pregnancies, pretty much. dd1 was hyper, dd2 wasn't. I think there are SO many reasons babies/we are as we are, it would be almost impossible to figure out what caused what. Is your baby teething? Both mine started around 5-6 months...and silent reflux caused awful crying (not sure babies that age can have tantrums exactly) in dd2...

I took uniphyllin, montelakust seretid salbutamol, anti histamines and several courses of anoxycillin and prednisolone through both pregnancies, ds1 had suspected iugr but didn't when born and was fine, ds2 had iugr and has been quite poorly but fine now, doctors said the risk was greater of me having an asthma attack than harm to baby so I carried on taking them.
