Have work very early tomorrow, no cough medicine in the house ... Or honey come to think of it. Am propped up in bed and can't stop coughing..... Anyone got any ideas?

if its a tickly sort then an anti histamine might help. The theobromine in dark chocolate is good too.

I find a beer or two helps a fair bit :)

I had heard something about chocolate but thought it was to be avoided when you had colds etc as it led to more phlegm.

Hmmm beer - not sure I have any in the house Wink

Any blue inhalers in the house? Great for tickly coughs, even in non asthmatics.

bodiddly · 11/12/2011 22:37

I tried my inhaler earlier but maybe I should give it another go. I'm sucking a cough pastille which is great but as soon as it's gone or as soon as I try to sleep it starts up again. Soooo annoying!

yep blue inhaler an hour before bed helps me in those situations. has me in a coughing fit half an hour later (very liberating) and then I can sleep well.

bodiddly · 11/12/2011 22:42

Thank you .. Will try my inhaler and hopefully get some sleep!

Honey in a hot drink (coffee/ camomile ) will really help

If its a non productive cough get a bottle of pholcodiene for tonight, brilliant cough suppressor.
