just been cleaning up dd3, and have applied all the creams the docs perscribed including a layer of sudocreme (she has a secondry bacterial infection). but the spots near her neck are huting her, am wondering if a small layer of sudocreme may help her. the calamine lotion isnt helping.

doc suggested sudocreme for her bottom as a barrier.

she is sleeping with her bottom in the air, as she back is so sore.

We used sudocreme on dd's "bits", it was less drying than ccalamine and helped I think but dd was 4 when she had it, your dd3 is very young isn't she? Do you use sudocreme normally on nappy rash?

no. usually use metanium but have run out, and diudnt have enough for any more (i left my purse at my mums when i went to get the perscription). doc perscribed emulysifying ointment to wash her with, canesten cream, and antibiotics. suggested i used sudocreme as well.

I use sudocreme on dd's girls bits, and use it on dd2 whenever she has a red bottom.

I used Lanacane medicated powder for both dd's with their chicken pox (dd2 was 6 weeks old) to stop the itching, it's cooling and soothing - calamine lotion did nothing for my girls - and I had PUPPS when pregant with dd2 so know it works.

DS had terribly infected Chicken Pox - he was given medicine containing valium to knock him out (8months old) as couldn't sleep & you couldn't cuddle him as you couldn't get your little finger tip onto ANY clear skin anywhere on his body.

He had antibiotics & we used calamine cream - much thicker, easier to apply, doesn't dry & seems to work much better than the lotion.

My sympathies with infected spots!

The GP prescribed sudocreme for DS3's chicken pox (he was 3 months- bless!) so it must be OK!
