Joint pain followed by rash - any ideas please?

I keep suffering with joint pain in my hips, ankle and now shoulder which starts and a few days later an itchy bumpy rash appears on the joint that hurts. It then settles and then starts again a few weeks later, I visited my gp but they said the rash was probably an allergic reaction and gave me itch cream. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be please? Googled it and arthritis came up, I struggle to sleep for more than 3-4 hours from the pain and feel tired a lot of the time.

Don't know about the rash but bursitis can cause the pain, perhaps fibromyalgia?

Did they run blood tests? Don't know what it could be but keep on going back til you get an answer

It sounds like some sort of autoimmune condition. Have you asked your GP to do some blood tests? There are conditions, one of which is Lupus, (I am not saying it is this - it is just an example) that can cause this type of symptom. Apart from the fatigue, do you have any other symptoms?

No they just gave me the itch cream! I'll book in again for next week, I was thinking shingles too but they just said it wasnt but its happened about 4/5 times now the pain then rash. Will see what they say.

I've put weight on, I do have headaches, I was actually wondering about getting tested for diabetes too as I am thirsty all the time, need the loo more often and with the tiredness. Think I need to go and request blood tests to see what's going on!
