i am not pregnant i have done a test,i am taking the contraceptive pill cerazette and have looked up on line if this is a side effect of this pill but it doesnt say it is

does anyone have any idea why this is happening please ?

Not sure, some people always have milk residue if they try for it after having a baby even a couple of years down the line. It can also be a sign of a hormone issue which can indicate other stuff. Don't google and book an appt to see the GP. Can't hurt. Smile.

actually i dont want to worry you but i had this many many months after stopping bfeeding and had to have an mri scan to rule out a tumour on my pituitary gland, this is VERY rare but they scanned me jst to be sure.

btw if it was the tumour, which like i said is RARE, its generally non cancerous and easily treated :)

but other things are much more often the cause such as a slight hormone imbalance taht will sort itself or even medication, some anti-depressants can cause milk production :)

anyway mine went away and they never found the cause and i am fine! so dont worry just get a quick check up wiht your gp :)

4mad is right (as are other posters)
Women's hormones are unpredicatable things sometimes, and lactation apart from pregnancy is not that unusual.
But you do need at least a basic blood hormone test taken at your GP's to rule out anything more serious.

Super-common and very rarely anything to worry about, especially if from both breasts, but see your GP as a precaution.

Wow I didn't know I was a rarity 4mad. I actually have the pituitary tumour. It is benign (they usually are) and it's easily treated with tablets. it's really nothing to worry about.

I had my youngest 5 years ago and didn't BF but it's only been in the last year that I don't get anything if I give them a little squeeze Smile

There were a few drops for years, I mentioned it to the dr as I was also getting really bad breast pain for 2 wks each month but it was just hormonal. The lactation has finally stopped and the breast pain has got less now.

what i meant was the cause of milk production being a tumour on your pituitary gland is rare ifyswim? but its one of the things they check as these can cause it. i ahve no idea how 'rare' the pituitary tumours are, tho i was told they are pretty rare by th econsultant i saw :) anyway i am glad yours is being treated easily, A1980 and hope it doesnt cause you an problems xxx
