Around my gum on the top left hand side, and where it meets the inside of my cheek.
Also can't stop sneezing.
Is this just a cold & I'm being pathetic? ust a really strange sensation - feels like when you get numbed at the dentist for a filling

What with the sneezing and all, could it be an allergy of some kind? That was the top result I got when I googled Sneezing and Numb Gums... have you eaten anything unusual?

StealthPolarBear · 30/11/2011 08:56

Ooh. Would that just be one side though. No, not eaten anything unusual

Any droop? Had a cold or an ear infection lately? Is sounding a bit like possible Bell's palsy to me too TBH, GP?

StealthPolarBear · 30/11/2011 09:18

Yes, we've all had colds, ds had viral ear infection and dh had viral eye infection. Still swollen but only slightly. If bells I shouldn't be able to smile should i? Or can that come later? Is bells age related?

Bells is related to having a virus a lot of the time. If it is Bells they might want to give you something for it, like steroids. I would ring the GP if it was me. (Nurse)

My nephew had bells palsy recently and it was obvious quite quickly that something was very wrong with his face. His speech was altered due to one sided numbness. It did however start with an odd feeling in his jaw that quickly worsened over a few hours.

Best get it checked as if it is bells palsy, steroids are best given quickly.

StealthPolarBear · 30/11/2011 15:59

well I'm pleased to report it seems to have sorted itself out - whatever it was. not quite back to normal but almost. Very odd sensation though

I had this happen two years ago. It was accompanied by a killer migraine too. Turns out it was my birth control pill! I don't tolerate estrogen apparently.
