Carpal Tunnel/RSI sufferers help please!

I have CT but the pain I have is both in my hand (radiating to my elbow) but also in my shoulder.

I am awaiting referral to the CT clinic but I wondere dif shoulder pain was normal? The GP mentioned CT and RSI, whats the difference? She kind of glossed over the shoulder pain saying it was related to the wrist problems.

Anyone know? Or have any experience please? I just wondered if I should push a bit harder about the shoulder as that is far more painful and restricting than the wrist/hand problem.

Thanks

You could have compression of your nerves at any point in your arm, rather than being specifically ct. I have the joy of radial tunnel syndrome, which is compression near the elbow and causes forearm pain and pins and needles. Its combined with tennis elbow and is a right pain.
My physio is having an effect, combined with steroid injections (don't hurt nearly as much as you might think), and the physio is careful to look for all compression points - yours might be right up by your neck.

Is the ct clinic run by hand surgeons or neurology in your area ?

I dont know!

thanks for that info because I am certain that this isnt "just" CT, I am sure it is related to my shoulder so I will push that point.

Thanks :)

I have traumatic carpal tunnel and have radiating pain with that up into my biceps muscle. The steroid injection was agonising the day after and hasn't work only pain free for 2 weeks and nerve deficits returned after 4 weeks. However, this maybe due to the unusual nature of my CT. Just holding out for my surgery date of 31st Jan - complicated by my job and requiring extra time off due to infection and trauma risk.

I have developed this lately and was told by physio it was my radial nerve, starting high up in my shoulder/neck.

I was told that CT results in numbness at night and pins and needles on waking.

Mine is worse after using the pc which I do for a job.... so I've bought a mouse gel support and am thinking of a vertical mouse.

do you know what triggers yours?
