'immobile womb'

Hello, I am not a mother and I am quite young, but I've seen some good advice on here before and everyone seems lovely so I thought it might be the best place to post. I have been suffering for two years with something called 'vulvar vestibulitis' - it's horrible, but not the reason I'm posting. Went for a hospital appointment recently for advice on this condition, which is basically completely related to the vagina and nothing to do with the womb, but doing a routine prod around my tummy the doctor said that I have what he called an 'immobile womb' and that my womb doesn't move around like it's supposed to. I have to have a pelvic scan for this, which he's booked me in for, but I am completely flummoxed as to what he meant and have been googling it to no avail... anyway, just posting in the hope someone might have an insight. Has anyone heard of a womb that isn't mobile enough, whatever that means.........
thanks in advance

Maybe he means he thinks you've got adhesions? (scar tissue sticking the womb to other organs). I think that can happen if you have had untreated infections or have severe endometriosis and would often cause intercourse to be painful. So if he couldn't move your womb about, I guess he wants you to have a scan to see if it has got stuck onto something else! This is not the opinion of a medical expert, by the way...
