Ds has head lice for a few days now, we are going to shave his head because he wont let us near him with a nit comb, and gets very distressed.

DTs are scratching their heads like crazy and have bites behind their ears and on the nape of their neck, yet apart from finding one adult lice in dt2 hair yesterday,I have found no more, I have combed their hair with a nitty gritty comb twice a day. There hair is quite fine, do you think it is possible they are going from ds head to dts, but not beibg able to stay in their hair long, I have been rinsing their hair in watered down tea tree oil.

Ds has had lice several times (he has very thick corse hair) so I am fairly expereienced and no what to look for, so cant understand why I cant find any in DTs hair.

I find the nitty gritty comb useless for detection - unless you have eagle eyes, that is. Are you sure you're not catching any? Might be worth trying a light plastic comb - the bugbuster ones are great.

No I am positive I'm not catching anything, also tried the white combs, and still nothing at all, very strange.

Are you combing their hair when it is wet? I find it the only way to catch the blighters.

waterfalls · 05/01/2006 12:43

Yes I comb it when it is wet
