Boyfriend with "manflu" and sore bollocks

AvadaKedavra · 23/11/2011 14:58

The bloke has a heavy cold manflu, day 2 and now complaining of sore/swollen/aching bollocks to the point he is lying down with them kind of flopping out Hmm

GP or just a common swollen gland type side effect of manflu that'll fade away in a day or two?

He needs to see the GP, mumps can cause such symptoms.

NormanTebbit · 23/11/2011 15:09

GP or OOH

AvadaKedavra · 23/11/2011 15:28

He says he's had mumps

Wailywailywaily · 23/11/2011 15:38

GP, ball shouldn't be that painful unless he is trying to tell you something Hmm

ShirleyKnot · 23/11/2011 15:39

Can you get mumps twice?

I think GP visit for very painful nuts.

heartriver · 23/11/2011 15:40

Does he feel sick and is it painful when he pees?

He really needs to see his doctor.

AvadaKedavra · 23/11/2011 15:44

WWW - what on earth could he be trying to tell me? Confused

ShirleyKnot - I didn't think you could but I suppose it's like Chicken Pox, I know they say you can't but my son had it two years in succession and I know of several children also who got it more than once.

Heartriver - just heavy cold symptoms, bit of a sore throat, can't see any swelling there but then he's got a round face anyway so hard to tell.

He says it's too late to be ringing now but will in the morning - it's how our surgery works, you cannot book in advance, has to be a free for all in the morning Hmm

OP posts:
ShirleyKnot · 23/11/2011 15:46

We have to do the free for all phonecalls in the morning for our GP as well AK. It's dead irritating!

I think he needs to be seen, his glands are clearly going a bit nuts (HA!) and better safe than sorry.

Saltire · 23/11/2011 15:48

DH had this - he had a really mild cold, followed 2 days later by what looked like bites/chicken pox/hand foot and mouthtype thing (but wasn't) follwed 2/4 days after that with swollen man bits, and also had swollen bits around his lymph glands in his arm,a nd on his cheeks. I madehim go to docs as I thought it was shinglesHmm or Mumps.

Doc said it was a virus!

however I do think he should go to GP

Saltire · 23/11/2011 15:49

not in his arm, in his arm pits, it was very noticeable under there.

heartriver · 23/11/2011 15:50

Phone NHS 24 and ask one of the nurses if he could be seen out of hours.

Wailywailywaily · 23/11/2011 16:17

my DH complains of swollen sore bollocks when he thinks he isn't getting enough sex Hmm
sorry, it was a flip comment.
Call NHS direct if your really worried especially if he has other swollen glands, does he have a high temp?

AvadaKedavra · 23/11/2011 17:16

oh I see WWW. He sounds... charming...!

I've poked under his arms and in his groin, he laughed under the arms but went ooooh at the groin, he won't phone NHS 24 but will ring GP in the morning.

OP posts:
AvadaKedavra · 23/11/2011 17:17

and yy to temp but haven't got a thermometer so don't know how high [totally unprepared for medical shizzle emoticon]

DH always gets achey nuts when he has a cold/ sore throat. I think it's a swolen glands fighting infection thing.

Would definitely see Dr if they're extra painful though.

AvadaKedavra · 23/11/2011 18:08

He says he can't get comfy but has gone to sleep now. I have gallantly offered to kip on the sofa tonight so he can starfish sleep, imgainging that rolling onto ones swollen nuts in the night would be rather Shock

OP posts:
2BoysTooLoud · 23/11/2011 18:58

Glandular fever?
[If not just the groin area].

AvadaKedavra · 23/11/2011 19:26

oh gosh I hope not! Shock

I may have snogged him at some point last week...

Bollock Watch

One is down, one is up and he feels relatively ok so hasn't bothered with contacting GP. which is his call I suppose, I'm not his Mummy. Still a bit grr at him though.

I'd be more than happy if Chris Packham were there hahaha!

He's been up to the bank and back and is a bit sore again, but I told him if he isn't going to take any painkillers or go to the GP then I shall ignore the moaning [hard bitch]
