Is it possible to identify these as one specifically or can the symptons be the same for all three?

I'm not familiar with the symptoms of TB, but I have had pneumonia and Ds had glandular fever, our symptoms were not the same.

I had glandular fever and would say that you would probably be looking for a cough with tb or pneumonia, whereas glandular fever is swollen glands and severe fatigue as main symptoms.

Well, a chest x-ray should do it.

They are different diseases. . Go to a doctor tell them your symptoms and they will send you for appropriate tests X rays blood tests etc. If you are really concerned about your or a family members health get to a doctors and dont rely on randoms on the Internet.

Sorry I was a bit vague. Was diagnosed with pneumonia a while back but now doctors are wondering if I had TB or Glandular Fever because of strange blood test results.

Looking at the symptons (googling) some match but some dont.

I think they are just clutching at straws trying to come up with a solution of what was wrong.

I was in hospital with pneumonia so I would have thought they would have tested for GF at the time but they didnt.

I asked the question because I didnt see they could be related but wondered if some expert had a bit more knowledge as to why the doctors would now consider this route.

When I had glandular fever the most noticable symptom at first was that my glands were so swollen I could hardly move my neck, and a bad sore throat that swallowing water felt like a knife. Then it got worse from there in Grin No cough at all, but extreme thirst and tiredness and a high fever which got worse during the day.

Pneumonia I've always had chest pains, although my dd1 had it and the main symptom was shoulder pain because the blockage was in the top part of the lung, which is relatively unusual. Generally you feel short of breath/possibly wheezy. Not necessarily coughing, as the cough helps to clear the blockage. When dd1 had it she didn't cough until into her second bout of antibiotics and the doctors were really please when she did. Didn't really have much fever with it, mild and very short lived.

Know very little about TB but I would associate it with coughing, and extreme tiredness. I think you can cough up blood, but I don't know whether that's an early sign, or it's a stage most people wouldn't get to.

TB is diagnosed by X-Ray and then a sample culture (usually sputum).
