Just checking back to see how you are both getting on. Really hope your poor boy is ok.

TheOriginalFAB · 16/11/2011 14:13

I hope he has been seen quickly and is okay.

TheHumancatapult · 16/11/2011 16:56

Been seen and transferred is currently having surgery to remove some of his bowel

All ds2 was worried about was that he be ok for Yop gear show that we have tickets for at end of the month

Poor thing, I hope he feels better soon. It is worth getting the number for the IBD support nurse while you are there as they are often the best person to call and really know when you need to be in hospital. Hope you are okay as well, look after yourself.

TheOriginalFAB · 16/11/2011 17:06

Blinking heck! I hope you are okay, it must have been a shock.

Hope it goes well for you and DS. Thinking of you both x

Bearcat · 16/11/2011 20:31

All the best for your son OP.
My neighbour has crohns and lost a tremendous amount of weight at one stage, then had surgery and has been well for a long time.
DS1(23 now) was diagnosed with UC at 18 and became very poorly 18 months later, but now well controlled and living the life all 23 year olds should lead!

Tianc · 16/11/2011 20:36

Oh lord, THC. Very best wishes for a good recovery for DS from surgery, and that it leads to a general improvement.

And best wishes to the rest of you too, and getting to the concert!

TheHumancatapult · 17/11/2011 01:46

Thank you

He is now out of sugery drugged up to eye balls and in HDU over night. They removed a large section that had completely ulcerated right through hence the bleed but he should be ok though may need a colonostomy eventually

Am just glad he told me knew when your 14 year old says mum cone into the bathroom is never goung be good news . We sacked taxi in end called ambulance to take us glad dud as his BP and pulse dropped rapidly

Tianc · 17/11/2011 01:54

So glad to hear he's come out of surgery.

Hope the removal of an ulcerated section improves things for him for a good few years now.

So, DS2 satisfied then? Grin

TheHumancatapult · 17/11/2011 02:08

He is up to eyeballs in morphine so is snoring nicely .me I'm hoping they can find a bed somewhere as need to rest / change position

No beds by kids beds in HDU for parents as they need to be able get both sides of bed in rush . So can not transfer out my chair as could not move quick enough to get out tue chairs they provide

Tianc · 17/11/2011 02:22

Sad Hope you get a bed, or even a floor in a day room or something if that will work for you, and get a bit of kip and change position.

TheHumancatapult · 17/11/2011 07:04

I ended up on sofa in parent lounge had to get if my arse as do not need to add pressure sores to the problem . But they said will shuffle some parents around in parent bedrooms this morning so they can free up a disabled room .

Was just one if those things can understand that they can not leave the room empty just in case

Once ds2 on normal ward and in sure ge is ok and he gets annoyed of my fussing will go home overnight luckily were only 45 mins or so away But did not want to leave him last night . Still my baby abet to big to sig on my Lap now

Hope that today is a better day for you all and that you manage to get some rest. They'll always be your baby, no matter how big they get! Grin

Tianc · 17/11/2011 10:45
