Pelvic Floor issues?? :( :(

Has anyone else here ever suffered with their pelvic floor?

Im 27 and i have a 3 year old daughter. I had a very traumatic birth with her that ended in emergency forceps when they lost her heartbeat and she got stuck. I got a lot of stitches....i dont know how many they never told me. Anyway my first smear test after she was born they mentioned my cervix had slipped but said it would right itself if i did pelvic floor exercises which i swear i do try to do. Sex has always been fine but lately my BF says he can feel a "lump"....especially if we arent lying down. So i checked myself and my cervix is loads lower and i can feel a "Lump". This is prob why i find tampons uncomfy now. So i went to the GP today and she examined me (lying down...sigh) and said that while i dont have a prolapsed cervix (this is what i thought it was) she said that my pelvic floor is really weak and my cervix has slipped. Not noticeable when lying down but definatly when standing. Shes referred me for physio but that could take 8 weeks to even start and she said "Just keep doing your pelvic floor manual exercises". But i have been doing them for years and clearly its not worked. So ive just gone online and ordered one of the electronic ones which has amazing reviews. Does anyone have any advice??

I know its silly but im mortified....im only 27 and im basically falling apart!!! xxx

I sometimes have to run to the toilet or leak a little cos i cant hold it in. I havent told my gp. I am only 23. At least they can help you get it sorted out, i never bothered with my pelvic floor exercies, but now wish i had. Have you looked on the internet for alternative exercises? And your body isnt falling apart try to think positively. and remember your not the only one. x

As a physio and also a mum of 2 who's had pelvic floor issues, don't get worried. Unless someone has specifically taught you what to do with pelvic floor retraining i think that it is hard to know if what you are doing is right. The physio will examine you and teach you the best way to do the exercises and you will get better but only if you religiously do the exercises. So many of my friends have had issues and personally I think that all new Mum's should be shown and taught how to do them properly but lack of funding etc means that will never happen.

I do recommend that anyone who has issues gets seen by a women's health physio. Good luck with it and hope the wait isn't too long x

hi Ruby 27, i 2 got told that i had a tilted womb when i had a smear by a gynie. I asked my gp 2 referr me to have a ultrasound scan. The results said my womb was in its natural place. They cannot tell by a smear. Also with me having pelvic floor the scan also told me that the bladder was in the normal place, which is goooood news. I advice you to have the scan. Has any1 had the mesh surgery?
