They are bloody painful! Had them since i woke up. Feel like curling up into a ball and rocking until they subside, they come and go - any ideas?

Is it in your lower back? Could it be a kidney infection? Think you need to see the doctor.

nutcracker · 04/01/2006 11:50

I have had this i think and it is also always in the morning. I am usually ok once i have been to the loo , but occasionally it last a few hours and I have take painkillers for it.

I even had it when 23 weeks pregnant with Ds and it terrified me as I was convinced I was going into labour. My midwife thought so too and made me call an ambulance as the pain was excriuciating.

Still don't know what it was.

mykidsmum · 04/01/2006 11:57

kidney stones are very similar to labour pains, infact i had them whilst pregnant and thought i had gone into labour. these pains are felt more in your back though

WigWamBam · 04/01/2006 11:59

Ring the GP for an appointment now (yes, you can call me Mom if you like; water off a duck's back ).

It could be a UTI, it could be irritable bowel, but you need to get it checked out.

Are you on the phone yet?

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 04/01/2006 16:10

Just got home so only just seen your message

They tend to be in my lower back and sides and they are so painful at times.

I will make a dr's appointment just for you wwb

LOL wwb, for once you suspect wrong

I think you are very caring and sweet and not in the least bit nagging

I will give the doctors a call tomorrow as they are closed now. Was just talking to dh and he reminded me how, some nights he wakes up and i am kneeling against the bed because it hurts - i dont remember that at all!! Will deffo get it sorted.

appendecitus?? (ok I don't know how to spell it)
eptopic pregnancy?? how do you know your not pregnant??

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 04/01/2006 16:56

I think its been going on too lonhg for appendactis or anything serious (a few weeks). I did a pg test about a month ago (negative thank god!) because i was feeling very teary all the time. I havent had unprotected sex either (we use condoms) so i cant be pregnant

I had these type of pains too for a while from being 32 weeks PG with ds and every month (at the same time) for about 8 months after he was born - still don't know what they were, but they were extremely painful and always occured when I was sleeping (3am ish). I hadn't had them for a long time then they reoccured when I was recently 8 weeks PG, I ignored them thinking oh no not them again, it turned out I had a ectopic.

Don't dismiss them if they are painful, its not worth it, have them checked out. Take care

WigWamBam · 05/01/2006 09:59

How's it doing this morning, Tamba? Did you ring the doctors?

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 05/01/2006 23:34

I forgot to ring the doctors but i will!

I keep meaning to but as wierd as it sounds you just sort of get used to it.

It hasnt been so bad today.

And totally irrelevent but I just typed this without looking at the keyboard. I have subconciusly learned to touch type

It sounds like diverticulitis. Mainly in the left but can also be rightsided. I was just searching to see if it could be anything else as I have suffered with this disease for 14 years and was just hoping that this time I could pin it on something else alas
