ANy ideas?

I am bfing a voracious toddler, so I guess a fair few calories go there.

My bmi is 19, so skinny end of normal, but people keep asking if I am ill.

I eat well - lots of home meade stuff, plenty of fruit and veg, nuts, dried fruit, etc, etc. Cake a few times a week. Lots of wholegrains, yadda yadda yadda.

On the one hand I am gald to have this probelm rather than being overweight (which I have been in the past), but it is getting a bit much now and I do look rather poorly at times.

I feel tired, but have 2 wee kids, including one who is up 6 times a night.

I might go to my GP, but our local surgery is awful.

Can you increase your fat intake at all?

Full cream milk, butter etc.

Yeah, I could, but I am reluctant to increase saturated fat - CCUs are full of skinny blokes who thought that they could get away with eating loads of butter/bacon butties because they were slim.

Ah, yeah - I guess. hadn't thought of it that way! D'oh.

Does bfing use a lot of fat? I know loads about the lactation process, but not the effect on the mum's nutritional wosit.

How much have you lost, over what period? If you have been feeding your toddler since birth, and have lost weight over that time, then I am with Hidden, you need to increase your calorie intake - things like fats and carbs give you calories quickly.

However if you have suddenly noticed a loss of a stone over the past month or so then you need a doctor. I think they say a 10% loss needs to be checked.

Thyroid ok? I think rapid, unexplained weight loss can be an indicator of an over active thyroid.

I did at first, but kind of lost my appetite at 9 mths.

Might buy some proper hot chocolate tomorrow.
