Mooncup help

I used to use the size B mooncup and I've just switched to size A. Had my daughter 6.5 weeks ago and have just got my period (annoying, having not had one since 2010!) so using it for the first time today. I've taken off the whole stem and never had any problems with my last one, but I'm really aware of this one. It feels like it's rubbing, even though there's no stem, and is quite uncomfortable. Have tried removing it and reinserting, am sure it's in properly and in the right place etc. Having used one for years I wasn't forseeing this!

Any ideas as to what it might be? I am wondering if it's not the cup so much as me-maybe I just shouldn't be using it and should stick to pads? I had thought tampons/cups etc were ok by this point though. I don't otherwise have any problems in that area that I know of (anymore!).

It might just be too soon after having the baby. Have you had your six week check yet?

I have-the doctor didn't actually check down there but then, I didn't ask him to as I feel fine...am wondering if it's not as fine as I thought though!

Things can take a bit longer to heal up than you're expecting. I'd probably go back to using pads for a while. You can get reusable ones fairly cheap if you don't like disposable ones?

You could also try some other, erm, activity down there to see how that feels.

Will get some pads I think. Haven't tried any other activity yet!

Me again! So here's a weird thing...I realised that although I am putting it in the right place-definitely-it keeps slipping lower, till it's right at the opening. I know it's meant to go low, but it slips too low. So I had a panic about my pelvic floor muscles being shot to pieces, then had a good look at it and realised that none of the tiny holes go through to the outside of the cup. They're on the inside but not the outside, like someone/machine didn't push through hard enough.

Could this be the root of my problem? Could it affect suction? I'm going to attack them with a pin tomorrow and see if that helps.

Sorry to bang on about this Blush

Ah yes that might be a problem. In any case the holes should definitely go right through.

Honestly though things are a bit weird down there after having a baby, for a lot longer than 6 weeks. I think it's more likely to do with that than anything else. It was over a year for me before I felt "right" again although I wasn't having regular sex (DS' dad was a twunt) and I did have a tear which was stitched.
