Please reassure me/ tell me what to expect! I have been referred for physio and have to go but am over weight and scared I might have to get semi undressed.

Anyone a physio or been to one? What can I expect in my first appointment? It's my neck if that makes any difference!

I would say to wear a vest top even under usual top, I am not too sure for neck but vest and shorts were recommended to me for shoulder physio and back physio (years apart ) hope all goes well for you, really don't worry they are so used to their work they won't think twice.

Hi, I've had physio for all kinds of things including neck, shoulder and never had to strip off. A vest or strappy top would be a good idea but don't think you'll need shorts. I'm not exactly skinny either but they've never mentioned my weight. Possibly if they need to look at your back you may need to strip to your bra but unlikely I think. All the ones I've had have been incredibly kind and gentle.

Hi I'm a physio usually if it's a neck (Upper = Cervical) (Middle of the back is = Thoracic) Lower Back = Lumbar.

If it's Upper cervical neck pain, then I usually ask my pt's to wear a sun vest (so we can have a good look at your neck, movement and also the surrounding area's). I know it can be a tad daunting, but we're not all ogre's :( and trust me if I've seen one person in a bra, I've seen a million - so please don't fret....we're not easily fazed and besides we're only human too - physio's just want to help folk get better (well the one's that work for the NHS - I can't advise you on private physio (better left said for another thread me reckons). Hope this calms you down a little. Good luck xx
