taking two year old for flu jab today - is there any side effects such as fever etc.

Just wanted to be in the know before we get there.

my 3YO had no sideeffects at all
remember to take chocolate as immediate (unwrap as needle goes in) reward
DD loves jabs now

My technique is to actually put the chocolate in the mouth as the needle goes in. Amazingly distracting. Ds was so surprised and delighted, he didn't even look down (for a blood test btw).

My son had it and the next day he was tired and had a little bit of a temp but a dose of Calpol sorted it out.

He is 5 and had to have one 4 weeks later as well because it was his first one!

There was no effects after the second one.

I agree with Aloha about having chocolate at the ready! It needs to be quite soft, too, so it melts in their mouth at once.

Dd2 has just had her second jab. After her first one she had a little bit of a cold which I put down to the usual colds at this time of year. But she's now got another cold, at exactly the same post-jab time as previosuly so it may be a side effect. I still think it's worth having the jag to avoid having real flu.
