What (not scary) reasons are there for a missed period?

I was due on 3 weeks ago and still no sign.
Getting a bid worried now as always regular as clockwork, as in 28 days to the day. The only times I've ever missed one is when pregnant.

I'm sure I'm not pregnant but I'm up at least 3 times a night for a wee and my boobs are aching. What are reasons are there for those symptoms????

I've also got one sided pain in my stomach and just feel generally rubbish, like I'm on, but I'm not

The only thing I can think of is is that I've been on quite a few courses of antibiotics over the last few weeks (root canal problems) and I'm wondering if that's effected me. Can antibiotics do that?

I hope so!!

Are there any other reasons? I suppose I need to get myself to the doctors

Do you know if her under active thyroid caused her to 'leak'?

I have no idea. Was too young at the time to be interested (isn't that typical teenager sensitivity) I do recall her trying to get me to taste it...eeeeeeek!

He did test my prolactin level - he said it was normal.

I'm going to go back tomorrow, would it be worth asking to have them re done?

I've been having really bad headaches for weeks now and feel as though I have peremenant PMT......

I bet you are worrying yourself like mad HMO2. I think you should go back to your Drs to see what other tests they can do. I know someone that was leaking milk but not sure on all the details, I can try and find out what it was for you.

It sounds the same as what my friend had, look up prolactinomas, that is what my friend had. I think her Dr gave her hormone tablets to control it and no further treatment was needed.

The Dr needs to test again, headaches and leaking are signs of it. Its not serious but obviously something you would want to get checked out. Good luck.

just copied this from a website

In women, relatively small elevations in prolactin cause irregular menstrual periods or complete loss of menses (amenorrhea), ability to ovulate (remain fertile) and may cause milky discharge from the breasts (galactorrhea). In addition, women may have a reduction in their sex drive. The normal prolactin level is < 20 ng/ml. In most women the tumors are detected when they are small (microadenomas) and the prolactin level is only moderately elevated (30 - 300 ng/ml).
