Chicken Pox at 18 months old

My 18 month old has the pox. She is into day 3 and seems totally fine. Both hubby and me have not had it at all. How possible is it that we mya catch it and has anyone caught it from their little ones and what was it like.
Any advice would be great

If you really haven't had it, then you probably will both get it. The gestation time is about 3 weeks I think. It does tend to be worse in adults, but you may find that you had it very mildly as a child and are therefore immune (it's quite unusual to get to adulthood without it) - I know a few people who swore they hadn't had it, but had blood tests done and they had got immunity (and therefore had it very mildly).

Hope you don't get it, or if you do that you sail through! And hope little one is soon better.

Bit worried really, if we both go down with it there will be limited help with little one.

I could be wrong on this but I think that if you're planning on having more kids it's best if you do get it before you get pregnant again - I seem to remember that it's not good to get it in early pregnancy...

No plans for any more just wanted one. Took on board what has been said about being imune though my dad and brother had it when i was about 6 or 7 and my three sisters had it when i was about 12 and i still didn't catch it. So could be immune without realising.

Friend of mine caught it off her DS -she had LOTS of spots (in places you wouldn't believe apparently ! ).
However other than the spots she felt fine and could carry on as usual at home.
I had it when I was 18 -caught it off the children I was nannying for just before i started uni. Again felt OK in myself and didn't even get many spots.

Goodness I reckon you must be immune then!

Apparently the younger you are the less likely it is to be severe, so perhaps you developed a very very mild version when you were little which has given you immunity.

Good luck!

I have been itching although don't know if this is just because baby is. Don't do it when she is in bed. Could be phycological poss.
