organ donation , is this different to or inline with England and Wales?

does this mean that the next of kin have no say on the matter if this is the person's wishes???

Well I hope it does - because the wishes of the deceased should be paramount

This is a new Bill introduced in Scotland so that if someone has chosen to donate then a relative can't overrule after death.

It seems an unusual move in some respects because even countries which have moved to "presumed consent" or opt out registers, have retained the right of the next of kin to overrule.

Must say I like the concept - the wishes of the donor can't be overruled.

I think it's a good idea. Both dh and I know that we both agree to donate anything that doesn't move.

Personally I think it it should be the other way round. You should have to opt out. That way people who were really dead set against it could say so and it wouldn't matter if you were one of the people who never got round to filling in the form or telling relatives etc.

I agree you should have to opt out. I am sure people who don't want to donate would like to receive if necessary.........
