DS is 4. Just last week I noticed he was scratching his face and also said his legs were itchy. His cheeks and under his eyes look quite red now.
We haven't changed our washing powder. We did change bubble bath - but he only used it once.I've now bought E45 fro Kids.

Does anyone have any experience of this? the skin looks red but doesn't feel rough. Help!!

No experience of eczema, no, but my DD has terribly dry skin on her face and hands at this time of year because of the cold weather.

Could it be that do you think?

Finbar · 28/11/2005 21:13

Yes i suppose it could - it has suddenly got cold.
Do you use any particular cream on her face?

I've been putting vaseline on her face - she gets it mostly around her mouth and chin, though, not under her eyes.

We use Johnson's baby lotion on the rest of her, though!

I put Vaseline of DS's cheeks though, if we go out in the cold, 'cos his cheeks get very dry and spotty looking in the winter as well. (He's 2). It seems to offer some sort of protection against the cold wind!! And I'm trying not to use wet wipes on his face in case they are drying out his skin as well!

I find Aveeno or Kamillosan works well on dry/red skin. ds has got a patch around his mouth and he currently has a bit of a cold plus the heating has been on more than usual.

Yeah, DS2 has gone all dry and itchy come to think of it so have I. We use E45 on the kiddiwinks and it works great - it cleared up DS2's eczema when he was really little as well. also aqeaous (sp?) cream works well I'm told though DS2 and myself go red and very itchy when we've used that.
