Bastard infected wasp stings - Men and Treatment

DH always reacts by becoming infected. So why oh why did he just ignore it on wednesday and just down some antihistamine?

The one on his stomach is fine. Fist-sized, but fine.

The leg is massively inflamed, hot, hard, very painful and he can't walk properly. He's on Fluclox given by the on-site doctor who just happened to be around this morning. If he had got some yesterday when it was looking a bit nasty he might be in less trouble today.

The last time this happened he couldn't walk for 2 days. The time before, he ended up in hospital on a drip.

They're daft aren't they?

Magnesium Sulphate paste is good for drawing out infection if you catch it quickly enough.

Do wasps have a particular liking for him or something?

poor thing, maybe he shoukd wear shirts and long trousers....

Oh dear that sounds awful! When does he get reviewed again?

Oh don't go feeling all sorry for him - he's known the consequences of insect bites and stings all his life. He could have got some help straight away but chose to ignore it.

They disturbed a nest when they lifted a drainhole cover and the wasps swarmed. Quite a few men got a sting, DH was silly enough to try to put the cover back and one got up his shirt, which he then thumped hard in temper!

He didn't realise his leg was got til later, he took his boot off and the leg was swollen all the way up to his calf. Still took him a day and a half to pop into the St John Ambulance tent who happened to have a doctor on site. He's been given an emergency supply and a prescription to get later tonight. He won't finish work til about 8pm though so god knows what it will look like tonight. He's limping in pain around a bloody great showground on duty.

Well plainly he has been a moose and has huge big moose antlers BUT just keep an eye on the swelling and maybe drop in to A&E if it doesn't start getting a lot better soon. It will be a major pita if his leg turns black and drops off.

Nah i'll fashion him a pegleg from on of the dining chairs
