I wouldnt have thought any thing of it, but on Embarrassing Bodies a few weeks ago they said you should check you Vulva and all its parts and if the skin changes colour to darker or whiter then it can suggest unhealthy problems, like cancer. I had noticed my clitoris area was going paler and more white in colour and didnt think anything of it, but after seeing EB program I am now concrned.
I plan to see my GP, but I am really worried . Has anyone any advise please.???

"unhealthy problems like cancer". So not just cancer, but presumably lots of possible infections/irritations as well. You really are looking at the worst case scenario and chances are it's nothing at all. Please try to stop fretting - you're putting 2+2 together and coming up with 653.

no , havnt got infections/irritations.

All you can do is get it checked out crispy, none of us can tell you if it is or isn't, always best to get these things checked.

Try not to worry. It is very unlikely that there is anything seriously wrong. You should make an app with your GP to get it checked out in case and to put your mind at rest. I am a complete worrier about these things and find that if I try not to think about it for a certain amount of time eg. the evening/ the day/ until after dinner, the anxiety has lessened when the time is up IYSWIM.

Ask GP for a check for lichen schlerosis. Too much Wine to write more, but google it!

If you are young ( uner 60 ) it is highly unlikely you have any form of vulval cancer which is very rare anyway.

The other point is- how are you measuring the colour change? Unless you are looking daily and have done so for months and THEN noticed changes, it's all a bit guess work, I'd say.

Every bit of our bodies looks pinker, whiter etc on a daily basis to do with circulation and in the case of your bits, possibly hormone levels.

I am 52 so not that young anymore ! (sad)

I had white patches on the vulva 7yrs ago (aged 26). I got all worried about it & was referred to specialist. The patches ended up disappearing on their own and all was fne.

Then a few months ago I started getting a lot of soreness down there. When I looked I found more white patches. After another referral the specialist had a look and diagnosed lichen sclerosus.

Google lichen planus, I have it in my mouth, ist annoying but usually nothing serious.
