Just booked single measles jab at the Childrens Immunisation Centre in Birmingham. Am I doing the right thing?

I'm wondering if I'm doing the right thing?

Has anyone here used this clinic? How have people got on with the single jabs?

The lady on the phone said they'll do the single rubella jab 6 weeks after the measles jab, then he'll have the single mumps jab 4 months after that.

I feel quite nervous about DS getting any jabs anyway and now I'm feeling all irrational because I've just seen they are the same company that do boob jobs and botox.

I know you say nothing can unscare you, but have you talked it over with your gp? S/he may be able to reassure you about the regular MMR, which is much easier and safe.

I think you are being very responsible and kudos for making informed decisions. I would rather go for the MMR as the autism link has been discredited but if you have misgivings then at least you are making sure your child is not unprotected and doing your research.

I would be very wary of that clinic - anywhere that isn't completely open and honest about their vaccine sources/manufacturer is not to be trusted IMO.

Also if you do choose to have vax there double check what is being given, the dose, batch numbers and if you are able to, see how their vaccine is stored. (ie is the cold chain preserved). Make sure you are given all the information to take away with you as they won't inform your GP for your child's records and so in years to come if there is a query you won't have any record of what was given.
